Obituary for HILDA A. SIDDENS
Hilda Agnes Siddens was born January 23, 1920 at her parents' home in the Bethlehem Community rural Altamont. She was the fifth child born into the Christian family of Gustav and Amanda (Stuemke) Wolff. Hilda grew up with brothers Wilbert, Edgar, Frank and sisters Lydia and Lillian. Hilda was baptized and confirmed her faith at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church where she was a life-long member. Hilda received her education from the Bethlehem Lutheran School and married Elnor Donald Siddens on July 25, 1936 at Bethlehem by Pastor M.O. Burkhart. Donald Sr. preceded her in death on March 30, 2004. Hilda was most proud of her family and that she shared with her husband both the duties of raising the family and assisting her husband with their dairy and grain farming in rural Mason, Illinois. She was very content to be on the family farm, and never ignored manual labor. In her spare time she enjoyed their family, the Bethlehem Ladies Aid, the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and the Effingham County Farm Bureau Extension. Memorials they may be directed to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, The Golden Nutrition Center both of Altamont or the Donor's Choice.
