Obituary for LILLIAN (WOLFF) WILSON
ALTAMONT -- Lillian (Wolff) Wilson, 90 years old, of Altamont, passed away after a courageous fight with life on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at 10:18 a.m. at the St. John's Hospital, Springfield. Lillian Louise Wilson was born March 7, 1922, in Gilmore, one of six siblings into the Christian family of Gustav and Amanda (Stuemke) Wolff. Lillian grew up with her three brothers, Wilbert, Edgar and Frank, and her sisters, Lydia and Hilda. She was a life member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where she was baptized, confirmed her faith, married and now buried. She married Herman R. Wilson on Aug. 10, 1940. Into this union were born two sons, Carrol and Lonnie, and daughter, Sharon. Lillian was a homemaker and a farm wife sharing the responsibilities of the farm and raising a family in a Christian manner. She was also a charter member of the Bethlehem Ladies Aid, member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and the Effingham County Home Extension. She was well recognized for her homemade quilts and crocheting. In addition, Lillian prided herself in her baking talents to include home-made bread, pies, jams and jelly. She also enjoyed her horticulture talents in raising flowers. She is survived by her two sons, Carrol Russel Wilson of Casey and his children, Bryan (fiancee, Lisa Ikemire) Wilson and Lora (husband, David) Mau and Lonnie Wayne (wife, Sally) Wilson of Mason and their children, Seth (wife, Jennifer) Wilson, Erin (husband, Cole) Lilly and Miss Jessica Wilson; one daughter, Mrs. Sharon Louise Berning of Lafayette, Ind., and their children Rodney (wife, Pam) Berning, Ryan (wife, Lezlie) Berning, Randy Berning and Rhonda (husband, Jeffrey) Arnold; one sister, Mrs. Hilda (Wolff) Siddens of Altamont; 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gustav and Amanda (Stuemke) Wolff; husband, Herman Russel Wilson; grandson, Kendall Avery Wilson in infancy; brothers, Wilbert and wife Ruby Wolff, Edgar and wife Leona Wolff, Frank and wife Elsie Wolff; brother-in-law, Donald Siddens Sr.; and sister, Lydia and husband Albert Kruger. For those who prefer memorials, they may be directed to The LMLW (Lutheran Women's Missionary League), the Bethlehem Ladies Aid Society or the donor's choice.

Sunday Afternoon February 17, 2013 at 1:00 PM .

Bethlehem Lutheran Church, rural Altamont, Illinois.



Visitation:

4:00 pm-8:00 pm on Saturday, February 16, 2013.

Kull Funeral Chapel, Altamont, Illinois. A second visitation will be held at Noon until the time of the funeral service Sunday at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
