Obituary for Elbert Roy Karnes
Elbert Roy Karnes 77 years old of rural Loudon Township, Fayette County, near Beecher City, Illinois loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather died on Thursday afternoon November 5, 2020 at 2:13 pm at the Aperion Care St. Elmo where he resided for the past two years after a lingering illness.
Elbert Karnes was born on January 27, 1943 in Decatur, Illinois into the family of J. R. and Ruth Starkey-Karnes one of twelve siblings with nine brothers and 2 sisters.
Elbert wed Ruthie Belle Hubbert on October 8, 1966 in Millers’ Chapel, near Funkhouser by Rev. Charles Mayfield. She preceded Elbert in death on August 6, 1992. He was employed by the Fedders USA in Effingham for many years until the closing of the Effingham facility. He then retired.
He is survived by his two Sons: Walter Albert (wife, Beth) Karnes of Beecher City, Illinois and their Sons Josh and Ozzy Karnes
