Obituary for SUE BURROW
Sue Burrow 79 Years Old of Altamont, Illinois. Passed Early Wednesday Morning April 18, 2012 at 8:30 AM at her home in Altamont, Illinois. Arrangements where entrusted to Kull Funeral Chapel in Altamont Illinois. Clara Sue Burrow was born August 30, 1932 at home in Cox City, Oklahoma, a daughter into the family of James and Merle Pribble-Prater. Sue was the second child of three siblings born into this Christian family. Hard work and a strong faith were part of her family life. Her family moved to Bowie, Texas shortly after her birth and from there the family followed Carter oil to Altamont in about 1939. She received her high school diploma from the Altamont High School and then was employed by George and Delphine Bohlander at their drug store. She married Charles Edward Burrow on September 4, 1953 in the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Altamont, Illinois by the Rev. John Meyer. After her young daughters were in the parochial school Sue began her 25 year secretary career for the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Sue served her church and community well by providing her time as a Sunday school teacher, Girl Scout Troup #140 leader, and 4-H leader. She was a superintendent for the exhibition hall at the Effingham County Fair for many years in baking and canning division. Sue was a proud member of the Ann Crooker--St. Clair Chapter of the DAR (Daughter's of the American Revolution) and with her late husband the Exxon Annuitants Club. She is survived by her Daughters: Andrea Jeanne (husband, Stan) Mason. And their children:Donna Bisby and her children: Sarah and Seth Bisby.Jennifer (husband James) Wright and their children: Jonathan Mason, James and Brandon Wright.Angela Mason,and her children Taylor Marie, Audrey Lynn and Dylan Thomas Roach.Thomas Edward Mason,and his son Jaydon Thomas Mason. All of: Mechanicsburg, Illinois. Miss Susan Jeanette Burrow,Altamont, Illinois.1-Brother: B. A. (wife, Ann) Prater,Hopedale, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her Parents: James Ruben Prater, Merle Agnes Pribble-Prater. Sister: Miss Vivian J. Prater. Husband: Charles Edward Burrow. Great Grandson: Michael Douglas Bisby. And special Friends: Tim and Dan.

Service:

Saturday morning April 21, 2012 at 11:00 AM

Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Altamont, Illinois.



Visitation:

Friday, April 20, 2012 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Kull Funeral Chapel, Altamont, Illinois with a DAR burial ceremony to be held at the beginning of the visitation at 5:00 pm. A visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral service Saturday at the church.
