Obituary for SAMUEL P. YAGOW

SAMUEL P. YAGOW 85 Years Old of Altamont, Illinois died December 25, 2012 at 7:15 p.m. at Lutheran Care Center in Altamont, Illinois. Samuel P. Yagow was born October 23, 1927 in the Bethlehem Community, Effingham County near Altamont, Illinois. He was the son of Samuel Paul and Hilda Louise Brauer-Yagow. Samuel was baptized and confirmed in his faith at the Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church then later transferred his membership to Immanuel Lutheran Church. Samuel married Dorothy (Dottie) Gruhn on April 20, 1952 at the First Lutheran Church in Boston, Massachusetts. Together, Sam and Dottie were blessed with four children: Paul, Karen, Deb and Robin. Sam enjoyed making his living at farming then in later years delivered RV's from the manufacturers to the dealerships. Sam had a love for music and square dancing. He was a member of the Plowboy's Band playing the mandolin, banjo and violin. Samuel proudly served his county as a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict serving as Staff Sergeant. Samuel served numerous offices at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, as elder and trustee. He was a member of the American Legion. For those who prefer Memorials they may be directed to The Whoo Hoo Sisterhood (The Jolene Arend Giving Fund), the Lutheran Care Center or Immanuel Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife: Dorothy (Dottie) E. Yagow. 1-Son:Paul Samuel (wife, Donna Jean) Yagow.3-Daughters: Karen Louise (husband, Mel) Stuemke.Debora Gail (husband, Steve) Worland.Robin Diane (husband, Rob) Klima.1-Sister: Evadine Bernice (husband, Eugene) Goers.2-Sister-in-Laws:Jean Gruhn.Linda Gruhn.6- Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren and Several Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by His:Parents.2Brother-in-Laws:Buzz Gruhn.Bob Gruhn.Sister-in-Law:Louise and her husband Fred Courtney .

Service:

Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday afternoon December 30, 2012 at 2:00 PM .

Immanuel Lutheran Church, Altamont .



Visitation:

Visitation for family and friends will be conducted from 4:00pm-7:00pm on Saturday, December 29, 2012 .

Kull Funeral Chapel, Altamont, Illinois. A second visitation will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm or the time of the funeral services at the church.
