Obituary for PAUL CHARLES BAUER
Paul Charles Bauer 74 years old of Altamont, died suddenly early Thursday evening August 2, 2012, at 7:31 PM at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois. Funeral Mass Services will be conducted Monday morning August 6, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the St. Clare Roman Catholic Church, Altamont with the Rev. Joseph Simburger officiating. A Rosary Service will be held at 5:00 PM on Sunday evening August 5th and a Visitation for family and friends will follow and conclude at 8:00 PM at the Kull Funeral Chapel, Altamont, Illinois. Military Burial Rites: will immediately follow the funeral mass at the St. Clare Cemetery, Altamont, Illinois. PAUL CHARLES BAUER was born May 22, 1938 at home on the family farm in Mound Township; Effingham County near Altamont, Illinois into the Christian family of Ralph E. and Marie McGraw-Bauer. Paul was the second child of eight siblings born into this farm family. Hard work and strong ideals were part of his family life. Paul received his elementary and high school education graduating with the Altamont High School Class of 1956. He served his country in the Army of the United States from May 29, 1958 until May 27, 1960 with the 101st engineering division. Paul was involved with agriculture during his life, primarily with being a hog farmer. On May 7, 1972 he moved to Koshkonong, Missouri and besides farming he served as the US Mail Post Master Relief for 20 years. Paul and his wife Veronica moved back to Altamont on May 21, 2005 to be near his family.He was a long time member of St. Clare Roman Catholic Church. He married Veronica Mary Dust on April 24, 1965 at St. Mary's of Help Roman Catholic Church in Green Creek located near Sigel, Illinois by the Rev. John A. Colevchio and she preceded him in death on October 4, 2007. He is survived by His: 3-Brothers: Ralph (wife, Mary) Bauer of St. Louis, Missouri. Robert Lee Bauer of Leavenworth, Kansas. Donald (wife, Lauretta) Bauer of Altamont, Illinois. 5-Sisters: Rose (husband Donald) Ziemmer of Sun Lake, Arizona. Betty (husband, Jack) Lauth of St. Charles, Missouri. Carol (husband, Jack) Heilman of St. Louis, Missouri. Ruth Smith of Fort Collins, Colorado. Linda (husband, James) Garfield of Forth Collins, Colorado. 2-Sisters-in-law: Mrs. Thomas (Agnes) Patrick of Fontana, California. Mrs. Ambrose (Bertha) Dust of Green Creek, Illinois. Several Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by His: Parents: Ralph Edward Bauer,Veronica Mary Dust-Bauer. Wife: Veronica Mary Dust-Bauer.
