Obituary for MARIAN F. BERG
Marian Florence Berg was born January 1, 1928 in the Zion Community, Effingham County near Altamont, Illinois. She was the daughter of Albert and Julie Schwerdtfeger-Kirchoff. Marion was life member of the Altamont Community. She was baptized and confirmed her faith at Zion Lutheran Church as well as completing her elementary education in the Church school. Marian married Raymond Paul Berg at the Zion Lutheran Church. Together, Marian and Raymond were blessed with five children: Roger, Shirley, Brenda, Jerry and Larry. While the children were growing up Marian and Raymond spent a great deal of time at the family business. She was the secretary and bookkeeper for the Berg Texaco Station before retiring Marian was an active member of the Altamont community, was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and proud member of the Effingham County Republican Women. She is survived by Her Husband: Raymond P. Berg.3-Sons: Roger (wife, Claudia) Berg. Jerry (wife, Margaret) Berg. Larry (wife, Coezette) Berg. 2-Daughters: Shirley Asher. Miss Brenda Berg. 1-Brother: Carl (wife, Nancy) Kirchoff. 1-Sister: Lorraine Wolff. 1-Brother-in-law: Larkin Smith 5- Grandchildren, 4- Great Grandchildren and Several Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by her: Parents: 1-Brother: Richard and his wife Imogene Kirchoff. 4-Sisters: Gertrude and her husband John Winter. Alice and her husband Marlin Milleville. Charlaine Smith. Leoane Kirchoff in her infancy. Son-in-law: Hans Asher. Brother-in-law: Paul Wolff. Visitation for family and friends will be conducted from 5:00pm-8:00pm on Friday December 28,2012 at the Kull Funeral Chapel, Altamont, Illinois. A second visitation will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church from 10:00 am until 11:00 am or the time of the funeral services at the church.
