Obituary for Larry Lynn Quandt
Larry Quandt was born on July 19, 1946 at the Fayette Co. Hospital, Vandalia, Illinois into the Christian family of Henry “Hank” and Virginia “Ginny” Roedl-Quandt one of 5 siblings. He was baptized on April 13, 1957 and confirmed his faith by the solemn rite of Confirmation on March 26, 1961 at the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in St. Peter, Illinois.

Larry wed Peggy Lee Beccue on April 10, 1965 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church Altamont, Illinois. He was self-employed as a grain farmer, and operated Quandt grain elevator in Mason, Illinois for several years. He was the past president of the Illinois Farmers Union in Springfield, Illinois, and later retired as an over the road truck driver. Besides being a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Larry especially enjoyed bowling with Beccue Ford and later Quandt Grain Company. He was a life-long Democrat, enjoyed gardening, and was a “lawn warrior”. Larry was always proud of his cooking and was chosen “people’s choice” for his chili in the Altamont Garden Club’s fall festival.

Son: JR Quandt-Larry Lynn Quandt Jr. of St. Elmo, Illinois and his son Devan Lee Quandt of Effingham, Illinois. Daughter: Jennifer Lynn (husband, Kevin) Wendling of Altamont, Illinois and their 2-daughters: Morgan Justine (husband, Jonathan) Kuhns of Altamont, Illinois and their daughter Virginia “Ginny” Kuhns
Macy Lee Wendling of Alexandria, Louisiana and their son: Gage Albert Wendling of Altamont, Illinois
Brother: Henry Louis Quandt of Mason, Illinois and his 2-daughters: Elizabeth Mary (husband, Tony) Evans of Granite City, Illinois. Suzanne Victoria (husband, Chad) Head of Sorento, Illinois.
2-Sisters:Sandra Kay (husband, Jon) Otterson of Madison, Wisconsin and their 2-daughters: Tina Marie (husband, Dave) Riggle of Deerfield, Wisconsin. Lynn Otterson (husband, Brian) Woodard of Phoenix, Arizona.
Gloria Jane (husband, Lyle) Buzzard of St. Elmo, Illinois and their daughter:Mindy Lee (husband, Shane) Healy of St. Elmo, Illinois
2-Nephews: Sean Mackin of Milan, Illinois and Ryan (wife, Michelle) Mackin of Fredonia, Wisconsin.
Larry was preceded in death by Parents: Henry “Hank” Ernst Oliver Quandt and Mary Virginia “Ginny” Roedl-Quandt. Sister: Karen Ann Macklin. Niece: Annette Yvonne Otterson. Nephew: Eddie Dean (and wife, Sandy) Buzzard
