Obituary for KAREL LEE RAGSDALE
Karel Lee Ragsdale, 72, of St. Elmo passed away suddenly at 3:23 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital Effingham. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Fairview United Methodist Church, Avena, with the Rev. John Heicher officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Church Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Kull Funeral Home, St. Elmo, and one hour prior to services Sunday at the church. Memorials may be made to Fairview United Methodist Church, The Gideons, Arabian Horsemen's Distress fund or the donor's choice. Karel Lee (Bail) Ragsdale was born Nov. 15, 1939, in rural Fayette County, Avena Township, the fourth sibling into the Christian farm family of Fred and Harriet (Fletcher) Bail. She married Ronald Gene Ragsdale on Sept. 3, 1960, at Fairview United Methodist Church. Karel was a lifelong member of Fairview United Methodist Church. She was an IRS enrolled agent, owning Karel Lee Ragsdale Accounting. Karel had a true love and passion for horses. She attained her lifetime achievement medal from the U.S. Dressage Federation, receiving the distinguished bronze medal. In her passing, she leaves behind her husband, Ronald Gene Ragsdale of St. Elmo; son, Brent Ronald (wife, Teresa) Ragsdale of St. Elmo; daughter, Lisette Rene' (husband, Mark) Ehrat of Shobonier; four grandchildren, Johanna Bernahl, Whitney (husband, Mike) Patton, Tara Bernahl and Braden Michael Ehrat; six great-grandchildren, Nodia, Kiyara and Myiah Miller, Jayden Bernahl and Dakota and Brooke Cox; and sister, Mary M. (husband, R.W.) Smith of St. Elmo. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Harriet (Fletcher) Bail; three brothers, Dale E. Bail, Robert Kent Bail and Stanley Dean Bail; nephew, Dennis Bail; and niece, Patricia King. Condolences may be left at bottom of page.

Service:

1:00 pm service time at the church.

Fairview United Methodist Church, rural Avena, Illinois in Fayette County.



Visitation:

Saturday June 9, 2012 at 4:00 pm and conclude at 8:00 pm at the Kull Funeral Home,
