Obituary for Delbert ( Bud) Harrison
Delbert ( Bud) Harrison of St. Elmo Illinois passed away peacefully, Monday afternoon at 12:50 pm. at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham Illinois. Delbert Leroy Harrison was born on August 19, 1934 in Hillsboro, Illinois a third child into the family of Delbert and Thelma Rhodes-Harrison. Then his family moved to St. Elmo during the oil boom where he graduated from St. Elmo with the class of 1954. He married Mary Carolyn Mathis the love of his life on December 18, 1955 in the First Church of God, St.Elmo,Illinois. Bud continued his education taking some classes in Carbondale at VTI. Bud was employed by the Caterpillar Corporation, ran a plant route for the Richardson Brothers Greenhouses, and also worked for the State of Illinois highway department. He was employed at the Vandalia Correctional Center in the capacity of maintenance over Lawn and Drives from 1973 to 1991, at which point he retired. He was an auctioneer, running an auction house starting in 1964 in the St. Elmo area for many years. In His passing He leaves behind his: Wife Mary Carolyn Harrison of St. Elmo, Illinois. 2-Sons: Marvin Lee Harrison of Gold Bar, Washington, and his son: Dustin Evan Harrison and his 2-daughters:Deidra (husband, Matthew) Dealy and Danielle Ami Harrison. David Earl (wife, Penny) Harrison of St. Elmo. Illinois, and his son Robert Derek Harrison,and his 2-daughter Erin Rachele Harrison and Amber (husband, Elvis) Heistand. Daughters Kathy Lynn Baucum of Bloomington, Illinois.and her son:Dylan Job Baucum and her daughter Desirae Andrea Baucum.2-Sisters:Karen Marie (husband, Robert) Johnson of Haines City, Florida. Danna Leone (husband,Terry) Firschingof Cloudcroft, New Mexico. 8- Grand Children and 8-Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his: Parents: Delbert Earl Harrison and Thelma Adelia Rhodes-Harrison .

Service:

Friday December 16, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Kull Funeral Home, St. Elmo, Illinois.
