Obituary for Curtis Dean Finfrock
Mr. Curtis Dean Finfrock 60 years old of rural Funkhouser near Altamont, Illinois passed away on early Wednesday afternoon, March 21, 2018 at 3:10 PM at the HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham, Illinois.
Curt was born on June 1, 1957 in Effingham, Illinois one of two siblings into the family of Ron and Joyce Garner Finfrock. During his younger years he attended Effingham High School and graduated with the class of 1975. During his youth and growing up he worked in the family business of Ron & Son’s Repair Shop where he learned how repair and sell lawnmowers. Later his father instructed and trained him in the necessary mechanical techniques of engines and equipment. This involvement later led him to take over the business and develop an acute interest in motorcycles, automobiles and drag cars. The business closed in 1995. Curt also had a passion for fishing and trap shooting.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge AF &AM #149 in Effingham for a number of years, most of all Curt was a devoted son, father and grandfather to his family. His last employment was with the Lake Sara water authority where he was the maintenance supervisor until his health did not allow him to continue his employment.
Curt leaves to mourn in his passing his: Mother Joyce Garner-Finfrock. Son: Justin Dean and his partner Jessica (Wolfert) Finfrock, 2-Grandsons: Tyler Dean Finfrock and Kamryn Michael Wolfert all of Altamont, as well as numerous cousins and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his Father: Ronald Dean Finfrock in 1986, and his Sister: Janice Kayrene Finfrock-Williams in 1978.
