Clara Louise (Wendling) Klitzing 90 years old of Altamont, Illinois went to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully on Saturday early morning December 7, 2024, at the HSHS St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois after a brief time with a lingering illness.
A visitation will begin on Thursday December 12, 2024, for family and friends from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the St. Paul “Blue Point” Lutheran Church, rural Altamont, Illinois. Funeral Services will be on December 13, 2024, beginning at 11:00 AM with the Rev. David Speers officiating with a visitation from 10:00 am until the time for services. Christian burial rites will be held at the Church Cemetery, Moccasin Township north of Altamont following the funeral services.
Clara was born at home in rural Moccasin Twp. Effingham, County into the Christian family of William and Anita (Mueller) Wendling on September 18, 1934. While raising a family, she proudly was employed as farm wife and housewife. Clara enjoyed spending time with her family, flower gardening and loved all her pets over the years. She was a lifelong member at St. Paul “Blue Point” Lutheran Church where Clara was a Sunday School teacher, member of the church choir and the Ladies Aid society. She enjoyed bowling, loved to mow her lawn and playing cards with family and friends.
Clara is survived by her family all of Altamont, Illinois Son: Randy (wife Kathy) Klitzing Daughter: Sharon Kaye (husband Todd) Sovey Brother-in-Law: LeRoy (wife Emily nee Trost) Klitzing Sister-in-Law: Lucille Klitzing Several Nieces and Nephews Step Grandchildren: Stacey, Jason, Kyle and Joel Beccue.
Clara was preceded in death by her: Husband: Raymond Louis ( Tiny) Klitzing on March 22, 1995 Married: August 1, 1959 Daughter: Vicki Klitzing in her infancy Parents: William and Anita (Mueller) Wendling Sister: Mildred and her husband Charles Nippe Brother-in-law: Harold Klitzing Father: Louis H. and Elizabeth S. (Vonderheide--Priess) Klitzing.
Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Care Center, Altamont Lutheran Interparish School, St. Paul “Blue Point” Lutheran Church general fund
