Obituary for Arland Murray Klitzing
Arland Murray Klitzing was born into the Christian family one of four siblings of William John and Helena Marie Huelskoetter-Klitzing. He began his long life on March 10, 1928 on the family farm, Moccasin Township, Effingham County near Altamont, Illinois. He was baptized on March 27, 1928 attended the Lutheran school and confirmed his faith on April 6, 1941. He also married Vivian Marie Logue on June 22, 1952 all in the St. Paul "Blue Point Lutheran Church, Altamont by the Rev. Herbert Rose. Vivian preceded Arland in death on January 14, 2010. While attending as a lifelong member of "Blue Point" Lutheran Church he was very active in Church affairs and attendance. As a young man he worked for A.M. Wendling in the Studebaker garage and the Homan Grain Elevator in Altamont. Arland was also active in the Triple K farming and The Ben Franklin Store with his brothers. Arland was an avid bowler and later in life was able to do some woodworking. Besides raising a family with his wife he was very proud to the Moccasin Township Republican Precinct chairman as well as a trustee for the township. Memorials they may be directed to the St. Paul "Blue Point" Lutheran Church and or the Donor's Choice.
