Obituary for Allan Carl Harnish
Allan Carl Harnish was born in Mark Greer's Hospital, Vandalia on July 16, 1948 into the Christian family, the older of two siblings, of Carl Frederick and Ella Elizabeth Bernahl-Harnish. He began his life on the family farm, Mound Township near Altamont, Illinois. He was baptized on July 22, 1948. He attended the Lutheran school and confirmed his faith on April 15, 1962, all in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church where he was a life member. He also married Cynthia Kay Cummings in the St. Elmo Baptist Church by the Rev. Frank Claybourne on August 6, 1967. Allan attended St. Elmo Community High School and graduated with the class of 1966. Allan then began his employment with the Humble Oil Company as well as working for Skelgas and Thermogas of St. Elmo. He retired from Bi-Petro after 20 years in May of 2011. Throughout his life he continued to farm and mostly appreciated the land. Memorials they may be directed to the Crossroads Cancer Center or the Davita Dialysis both of Effingham. The choice can also be that of the Donor.
